2011 Techno World Championship (day 5) photos

Today was the final day of the 2011 Techno World Championship regatta hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. All fleets ran 2 races, followed by a distance race around Alcatraz.


The beach was packed with spectators waiting to see if their team was a winner.


Here’s Sills Saskia (GBR956) showing off her flag and celebrating with teammates.

There are tons more pictures in the main gallery and all are labeled with sail numbers, division(U17 Girls, U17 Boys, U15 Girls, U15 Boys, Open, raceboard) and some sailor names.

2011 US Windsurfing Nationals (day 2) photos

I was out on the water yesterday for formula and slalom racing at the 2011 US Windsurfing Nationals. I’m still in the process of posting the photos, but check out the one’s I’ve uploaded so far.


Paulo dos Reis was dominating the formula races.


Tyson Poor was showing amazing speed in slalom.

Australian 18s in town this week

The Australian 18 skiffs are in San Francisco this week for a regatta. They kicked off the competition today and will be racing through Thursday including a big downwinder against the kitesurfers and windsurfers. Don’t miss it.

US Windsurfing Nationals & North Americans Day 3

Long distance and slalom racing were the order of the day today.  I hiked up to the Golden Gate Bridge to get an overhead view of the race. Phil McGain (KA7) was fastest on the trip down to Treasure Island and back and finished in first place.

2010 San Francisco NOOD regatta

More than 150 boats joined in this year’s Sperry Topsider NOOD regatta in San Francisco this past weekend including my favorites, the F18 catamarans. With 20 entrants, the 18 foot catamarans were one of the largest classes in attendance. Click on any of the pictures below to see more regatta photos.







There was also some good kite racing action. Here’s a kite passing another competing sailboat to weather.
