I was down at the beach this morning shooting photos of surfers out enjoying the huge surf when I saw this gentleman out for a walk.

I glanced away to shoot some surf action shots and when I looked back…

Oops!

While down at Crissy Field today shooting windsurfing and sailing pictures today, I think I experienced someone jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. All of a sudden I saw the Coast Guard boat and the police boat and a jetski with scuba diver on back all racing toward the south tower of the bridge. Then I heard a fire truck and ambulance on their way to Fort Point. And then I looked up at the bridge and saw red lights flashing just to the left of the south tower.

I just got word that one of my photos is going to be used in an upcoming newsletter. The photo is of a great dane puppy taking the beagle for a walk. Animal nutritionist Susan Blake Davis is going to feature it in her e-newsletter about active dogs.

Yesterday, a friend who works at the San Francisco Zoo took me on a behind-the-scenes tour of the zoo. We really lucked out on the weather too – sunny and warm instead of the usual cold and foggy. There was a Halloween event going on the zoo with lots of kids in costumes and decorations everywhere. A lot of the animals were getting special treats too.We saw all the regular stuff like bears, rhinos, and penguins. But the exciting part was getting to go places most zoo visitors never see. We met up with the marsupial keeper and got to go into the koala house to meet and pet the koalas.
Then we headed over to the giraffe house where we got to go in with the zoo’s baby giraffe who is 2 months old. He was a little hesitant at first of having new people in his space but then warmed right up to us and nearly put nose prints on my camera lens a couple times. Then we got to feed bananas to the adult giraffes. What an awesome experience. Thanks Kelly!
