Last weekend I headed up to Humboldt Redwoods State Park for some camping. Luckily, they have signs to let visitors know where the trees are in case people have problems finding something hundreds of feet tall and more than thirty feet around.

How were the campgrounds there – like for showers and stuff?
Prairie Creek to the north has sort of bare-bones 2 shower stalls. Near Jedediah Smith redwoods, I usually stay about 25 minutes north at Harris Beach State Park, with multiple showers – even a laundry room.
In Trinidad, there is an Emerald Forest RV resort & campground that was pretty decent.

Humboldt Redwoods had great facilities. The bathrooms were well taken care of and stocked with toilet paper. The showers were 50 cents for 5 minutes of hot water. And the ranger had firewood for sale that was a lot cheaper than the San Francisco Safeway.
Streamlined part of the visit 2 weeks ago. Stayed a night at Curly Redwood Lodge in Crescent City. And 2 nights north at Harris Beach State Park to enjoy ocean air at night and a few cable TV channels.
Did a bunch of exploring. Literally went up a mountain in Jedediah Smith redwoods through a valley and bushwhacked through huge huckleberry down the opposite side. And Tall Trees Grove in RNP the day before.
